RULES for TEEN FITNESS

TEEN/COLLEGIATE FITNESS

AGE GROUPS

8 - 10 years olds
NO swimsuits – physiques will not be judged
Fitness Routine – competitors must have 2 of the 5 required NPC moves.

11 - 13 years olds
NO swimsuits – physiques will not be judged
Fitness Routine – competitors must have 3 of the 5 required NPC moves.

14 - 15 years olds
NO swimsuits – physiques will not be judged
Fitness Routine – competitors must have 3 of the 5 required NPC moves.

16 - 19 years olds
2-piece swimsuit in heels
Fitness Routine – competitors must have 4 of the 5 required NPC moves.

Collegiate Fitness (Up to 25 yrs old)
2-piece swimsuit in heels
Fitness Routine – competitors must use all 5 of the 5 required NPC moves.

Straddle Hold
Leg-Extension Hold
Full Spilt-Side
High Kick

STAGE

The stage is 12' x 40'. There will be a 5' x 24’ mat available for use in performing routines.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

The Teen/Collegiate Fitness Routines and Awards Presentations will be run separately from the Bodybuilding/Figure/Bikini contest.

Competitors Meeting – Noon – Pointview Room

Competition Begins – 1:00 pm – Ballroom

Awards Presentations – immediately following routines

JUDGES

The Fitness Routines will be judged by experts from the fields of Cheerleading and/or Gymnastics.

SCORING

Physiques will NOT be judged in the 8-10, 11-13 and 14-15 yr old age groups.

Physiques will be judged in the Teen 16-19 yr old age group and the Collegiate Fitness Division. Judges will be looking for the following criteria:

  • Balance
  • A toned and fit look
  • Not overly muscled
  • Presentation

Scoring for the Fitness Routines will be done by a Points System. The scoring categories are listed below:

  • Strength, Flexibility, Overall Impression/Performance Quality, Penalties
  • Tumbling, Tricks/Jumps, Overall Impression/Performance Quality, Penalties
  • Dance, Transitions, Choreography/Creativity/Costumes, Overall Impression/Performance Quality, Penalties

SWIMSUIT ROUNDS, 16-19 YR OLDS and COLLEGIATES

The judging of the 2-piece swimsuits in the Teen Fitness 16-19 year old age group and the Collegiate Fitness Division will take place along with the Prejudging of the Swimsuit Round of the Teen, Collegiate and Masters Figure Divisions at 9:00 am on Saturday.

Competitors will begin with the Individual Presentation Round. The Individual Presentation Round is the competitor’s opportunity to display their physique by doing three Model Turns. Begin by facing the judges and then do the Model Turns.

Competitors will then be lined up and directed to do Ό turns by the Head Judge. The Ό turns must be done as follows:

  • Feet together
  • Hands at your sides
  • Head facing the way your feet are facing
  • No twisting

AWARDS

The top 5 competitors in each age group will receive awards.

All competitors will receive Official Contest T-shirts.

Awards presentations will take place immediately following the completion of the Fitness Routines.

TICKETS

Tickets for the Teen/Collegiate Fitness Championships are $25 and all seating is General Admission. The ticket is also good for seating at the Bodybuilding/Figure Prejudging at 9:00 am on Saturday.

DRESSING ROOMS

The Teen/Collegiate Fitness Competitors will have a separate dressing room from the adult Figure and Bodybuilding women.

PARENT PASS

Each Teen Fitness competitor is permitted to receive one Parent Pass for their parent or trainer. The Parent Pass will provide the parent/trainer full access to accompany the competitor backstage at all times.

The Parent Passes will be distributed at the Teen/Collegiate Fitness Competitor Meeting. The parent/trainer must turn in their Prejudging ticket in return for the Parent Pass.
